The fresh magic of wet weather on Tuesday (September 2, 2025) saw several rivers and streams in the Jammu division. Schools and National Highway Jammu-Srinagar remained closed due to new threats of landslides and lightning floods.
Officials said that occasional rains saw the Tawi River, which flows over the danger brand in Udhampur and Jammu. The Basanter River in Samba also exceeded the flood alert level during the day.

Officials in many districts in the division of Jammu reported their employees for high warning. Shafqat Majeed Bhat, a sub-divisional judge, Mahore, said there was a report on road, houses, crops, property and public infrastructure. “Field employees of all departments will remain on their jobs and actively deal with public complaints according to the rules,” he said.
The locals said many between the district roads were in Poonch, Reasi, Ramban and Doda for fresh landslides. The army set up a 110 -stop Bailey Bridge via the Yangalware stream to ensure the connectivity of Doda and Kishtwar districts.
“The devastating floods in the Jammu region immersed huge areas, swept houses, bridges and fields. NH-244, DOD and KISHTWAR Rescue, washed away near this, paralyzing mobility and cutting off villages,” said Jammu White Knight Corps on X.
However, the National Motorway Srinagar-Jammu remained closed for operation due to weather and recent landslides. The trucks loaded on an apple pointing in front of the Kashmir valley were unfavorable.
Nazir Ahmad, an apple dealer in Sopore Mandi, said he was stuck on the highway for more than 500 trucks carrying Apple product for several days. The Kashmir Valley is associated with the outside world through an alternative Mugal Road in southern Kashmir. Most of the necessary supplies, such as gasoline and dining, are transferred from this section to the valley.
The President of the People’s Democratic Party Mehboob Muftti appealed to the Minister of the Union of Ashwini Vaishnaw to introduce a devoted train service between Kashmir and Delhi to deal with the challenges facing fruit growers in the valley. “Unfortunately, the road was closed again and left hundreds of fruit vehicles, which resulted in inevitable losses. The reserved train service would bring much necessary relief to all who participated in the store,” she said.
BJP leader and opposition leader Sunil Sarma announced that 28 BJP MLA donates each of the £ 1 crore from his constitutional development fund (CDF) to support families affected by recent floods in Jammu.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department predicts wet weather for the next 24 hours in J&K. He warned against the possibility of “heavy to very heavy rain” in several districts of the division of Jammu by the evening of 3 September.
