
Terrorist attack Pahalgam: Parks at tourist places in Jammu and Kashmir, which were closed after April 22, Pahalgam terrorist attack, which will be reopened gradually, said Lieutenant J&K Manoj Sinha on Saturday.
The government of Jamm and Kashmir closed 48 of 87 tourist destinations across the Kashmir valley after the terrorist attack of Pahalgam, which, according to an earlier report, killed 26 people, mostly tourists.
“Some places were closed after April 22 (attack) with regard to security considerations,” Sinha said.
J&K officials received messages from each district after which they decided to reopen the parks.
“Division Commissioners and IGP from Kashmir and Jammu have taken the news from each district and it was decided to reopen some destinations in a gradual way,” Sinha told reporters.
Lieutenant Governor spoke to reporters after visiting Nunwan Basic Amarathnath Yatra in Pahalgam in the Ananttnag South Kashmir district.
Which tourists in J&K are reopened?
The first phase includes tourist destinations, which will be open to visitors, Beetab Valley and parks near the Pahalgam market in the famous tourist destination Pahalgam, Verinag, Cokernag and Achabal Gardens in the Anantnag district.
Sinha said that destinations like Badamwari Park, Duck Park near Nigeen and Taqdeer Park near Hazratbal will be open in Srinagar.
These eight places are reopened and tourists can visit there, he added.
Eight destinations would be reopened in the Jammu region, and the Governor of Lieutenant informed reporters.
“In the first phase, eight seats are reopened. In the next phase, some other destinations will be reopened,” he said.
“Sarthal and Dhaggar in Kathhua, Devipindi, Siyad Baba and Sula Park in Reasi, Guldand and Jai Valley in Doda and Pancheri in Udhampur – – all in the Jammu region – also reopen in the first phase,”
The tourism industry was hard to hit in Jamm and Kashmir after the terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam.
Main Minister Omar Abdullah said earlier that his government was working to improve the experience of tourists coming to Jammu and Kashmir and claim that visitors who come to the valley should want to return.
