
J&K Ramban Flash Floods: All government and private schools, universities and technical institutions in the Ramban Jammu and Kashmir district will remain closed with regard to lands and lightning floods caused by extreme rain on Monday, April 21, Sunday said.
The Commissioner’s representative announced on the day of the X announcement and urged people in this area to stay inside.
“Given the bad weather and heavy rains causing lightning floods, all government and private schools, universities and institutions in technical education in the Ramban district will remain on 21.04.2025. Stay inside, stay safe,” said the Commissioner.

Three people, including two children, lost their lives after Jammu and Kashmir Ramban District hit on Sunday, said Commissioner Baaner-UL-HAq Chaudhary.
The official told the press agency or that around 200-250 houses were damaged in the incident.
“Approximately 200-250 houses were damaged. There was maximum damage in Ramban,” he said.
He also confirmed the loss of three lives due to lightning floods and landslides.
“Due to continuous collisions and cloudburst, the national highway was closed in several places. Houses and hotels were damaged in Ramban. Two houses collapsed because of the landslide in the village of Bagahana, where 3 people lost their lives,” Chaudhary said.
“The rescue operation is underway. The NDRF team is on the way and all local teams are also deployed,” he added.
The government official said there was massive damage throughout the district due to heavy rain, cloudtsts, high -speed winds, landslides and hail.
“We are monitoring the situation and the assessment will be done later to provide the help of the affected population. Our priority is to protect lives at present,” the official said as a press agency or.
Governor Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed their sorrows over the loss of lives and said that all possible assistance was extended to the affected families.
Deputy Minister Jammu and Kashmir, Surinder Chaudhary, achieved Ramban to assess the situation after the lightning flood and landslide.
