James Kennedy, known for his role in Vanderpump Rules, is once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The Bravo star, who was arrested in late 2024, has found himself embroiled in yet another controversy—this time for posing with Andrew and Tristan Tate, two of the internet’s most divisive figures.
James Kennedy Apologizes for Posing with the Tate Brothers

On March 8, 2025, Kennedy took to Instagram to issue a public apology after sharing a photo featuring himself with the Tate brothers. The image, which quickly went viral, showed Kennedy grinning while the brothers stood in the background.
“I deeply regret posting a photo with the Tate brothers last night,” he wrote. “I wasn’t fully aware of their content or the allegations against them. I only knew them as podcasters who had mentioned Vanderpump in a viral clip.”

Kennedy went on to clarify that he had since educated himself and denounced their controversial views. “I sincerely apologize to anyone I offended,” he added.
Bravo Fans Outraged Over Kennedy’s Photo
Kennedy’s apology did little to quell the outrage among Bravo fans, many of whom expressed disappointment and anger on social media.
“This is offensive on so many levels,” one fan commented. “Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel.”
Another critic called Kennedy “the worst guy to come out of Vanderpump Rules,” while others questioned whether he had genuinely changed.
“I tried so hard to believe James had turned a corner and gotten the help he needed to be a decent person, but I think this is the last straw,” another fan wrote.
Tate Brothers’ Controversial Past

The Tate brothers have long been embroiled in controversy, facing allegations of sexual assault and human trafficking in Romania and the UK. While they maintain their innocence, their inflammatory views on masculinity and women’s rights have led to widespread criticism.
Recently, the duo arrived in the United States after being permitted to leave Romania. Speaking to the media, Andrew Tate stated, “We live in a democratic society where you’re innocent until proven guilty, and I believe my brother and I are largely misunderstood.”
Kennedy’s Past Legal Troubles Resurface

The controversy surrounding Kennedy’s association with the Tate brothers comes just months after his own legal troubles. In December 2024, the reality star was arrested in California following allegations of domestic violence involving his then-girlfriend, Ally Lewber. Witnesses claimed Kennedy aggressively grabbed Lewber during an altercation, leading to his arrest and subsequent release on a $20,000 bail.
Following the incident, Lewber thanked her supporters, stating, “I’m okay and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy.”
Kennedy Commits to Sobriety and Personal Growth

Amid ongoing public scrutiny, Kennedy has since announced his commitment to focusing on sobriety and personal improvement.
“I’m taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones,” he shared on Instagram in December 2024.
Whether Kennedy can repair his reputation remains to be seen, but for now, Bravo fans remain skeptical about his recent actions.
