The state cabinet Andhra Pradesh approved the establishment of Jala Harathi Corporation to facilitate irrigation projects in the state.
The publication of the Cabinet decision at a press conference on Thursday, Information and Public Relations (I & PR) Minister Kolus Pardhsarathy said that Jala Harathi would be a company for better use of water for better use of water (SPV) by vehicle (SPV).
The project, which is estimated to cost 80,000 crore, would focus on the transformation of Rayalaseem into a prosperous region.
NECL compensation, genco
The Minister said that M/S Necl and AP-Genco were losses because the previous YSRCP government canceled its contracts with regard to the production of the Polavaram project.
He said the cabinet approved the implementation of the referee on December 8, 2024, according to which the government would have to pay a replacement of 742 GBP Crore M/S Necl and 986.17 GBP Crore by AP-Genco.
He said that the main minister ordered a thorough review of 44.6 GBP Crore additional financial assistance designed for the construction of the retaining wall in the Major (Nagarjuna Sagar Left Branch Canal) under the Chintalapudi irrigation scheme (Package No. IV).
Mr. Partharatha said that the cabinet approved a proposal to expand the government for a 710-Crore loan acquired by AP Power Finance Corporation Limited by Hudco.
The coalition government was determined to prevent the privatization of the steel plant Visakhapatnam (VSP), he said. The state government agreed to transfer the energy fees of the VSP of 2,400 GBP to its own capital, which helped the plant to achieve profitability by March. The state police will be replaced by central security staff in the VSP, he added.
