Delhi Capitals and the Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk stressed that they were eager to return to its usual form for its franchise IPL, but with a more controlled approach. After a slow start for the DC in the ongoing IPL 2025 season, the Australian star focuses on comeback by resigning from thinking to try to hit each ball at six.
Fraser-McGurk spoke at a press conference before the match before the clash of the DC against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru 27 and thought about the contrast between its form from IPL 2024 and the current season and how he plans to return to the score for his party.
“Obviously I would like to have other runs next to my name. But that’s the way cricket sometimes. You go through heights and minimis. I think the IPL showed both sides – last year and this year,” Fraser -Mcgurk said.
“The most important thing is to stay level all the time – whether you go well or not. My job is to get a team for a good start, but that doesn’t mean trying to hit each ball for six.
Fraser-McGurk was able to win only 55 runs in his six IPL 2025 matches, registered two ducks and only one two-digit score-38 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This eventually led to the last two clash against Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.
While DC tried at least four different introductory combinations after Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis injuries, it is unlikely that the party will change its current combination Abhishek Porel and Karun Nair, who both played impressively against LSG in the last match.
While JFM has impressed many of its great skills in IPL 2024, it remains to find out if a 23 -year -old man can regain his lost touch if he gets another chance in a DC clash against RCB.
