
Minister of external matters with Jaishankar said on Monday that economic practices around the world should be fair, transparent and for the benefit of everyone because the world is looking for a stable and predictable environment for trade and investment.
Comments Jaishankar at the BRICS Virtual Summit came in the middle of growing concern around the world because of American tariffs in India and other countries.
When Jaishankar focused on the virtual summit, he shared Indian faith in the protection of open, fair, transparent and non -discriminatory approach of the international trading system.
Jaishankar represented the Prime Minister of Narendra Modi at the BRICS summit, attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other group leaders.
“The world as a team is looking for a stable and predictable environment for trade and investment. At the same time, it is essential that economic practices are fair, transparent and for the benefit of everyone,” Eam said.
“When multiple disturbances occur, our goal should be to prove it against such shocks. This means creating a more resistant, reliable, redundant and shorter supply chains,” he added.
Brazilian President Luiz Lula Da Silva convened the BRICS virtual summit to discuss US tariffs and business policies that disrupted trade.
Jaishankar urges a “constructive and cooperative” approach
In his speech, Eam Jaishankar has suggested that the world is needed “constructive and cooperative” approaches to support sustainable trade.
“Increasing barriers and complicating transactions will not help. Neither connecting business measures with matters without trade,” he said.
Jaishankar urged Brics nations to present an example of reviewing their own business policies with the Member Nations.
“As far as India is concerned, some of our biggest deficits are with BRICS partners and we have tried for a quick solution. We hope this realization will be part of today’s meeting,” he said.
Comments Jaishankar assume importance in the middle of the growing business deficit of India with China.
“India firmly believes that it should be protected and raised,” he said.
The Minister of external affairs also said that “the state of today’s world is the cause of real concern”.
Pandemie Covid, the main conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and the volatility of trades and investments, and extreme climatic events are some of the examples of the main challenges that the world has faced in the last few years, said Jaishankar.
“Given these challenges, it seems that the multilateral system fails to the world. The fact that so serious stress is left is of course the consequences for the global order itself,” Eam said.
“It is a cumulative concern that BRIC is now discussing,” he added.
