At least 12 people were killed and 12 others injured when a dump truck rammed into several vehicles in Lohamandi area of Harmada in Jaipur, officials said on Monday.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the speeding truck hitting several vehicles, including bikes, before overturning.
The tragic road accident in Jaipur took place under Harmada police station limits in the city.
According to the police, the cart overturned in the Loha Mandi area, resulting in many casualties.
However, Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal told ANI that 10 deaths have been reported.

“Ten casualties have been reported. We are currently gathering details of the injured,” he said.
However, Jaipur District Collector Jitendra Soni separately told PTI that 12 people died in the incident and 12 others were injured.
“A dump truck hit several vehicles in a chain collision near Loha Mandi. Twelve people died and as many were injured in the accident,” he said.
Some of the injured are in a critical condition and are being treated at the trauma department of SMS Hospital.
The empty tipper was from road no 14 towards Loha Mandi petrol pump. It suddenly lost control and started crashing into cars and bikes one after another over a 300 meter stretch.

Police teams arrived at the scene, diverted traffic and began efforts to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals in ambulances.
CM expresses grief
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed shock over the incident and offered his condolences to the families of the deceased.
“The road accident that took place in Lohamandi area of Harmada, Jaipur which claimed lives is extremely tragic and heartbreaking. The authorities concerned have been directed to provide proper treatment to the injured,” he said in a post on X.
“We pray to God to grant the departed souls a place in their eternal abode and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this devastating blow,” Sharma added.
Second incident in 2 days
This is the second major road accident to hit Rajasthan in two days.
A tourist bus full of people including women and children rammed into a stationary truck while returning to Jodhpur on Sunday.
At least 15 people died in the accident, including 10 women and four children, and two others were injured. The incident happened in Phalodi area of Rajasthan.

The Rajasthan government announced the financial assistance on Monday ₹10 crores for the families of the deceased.
After the announcement, community leaders and family members of the victims ended their protest at the hospital and the bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
