Jagga Reddy asks KTR not to wish harm to Gandhi family who gave Telangana
TPCC Working President T Jagga Reddy addressing the media at Sangareddy on July 19, 2026.
Telangana Congress working president T. Jagga Reddy questioned the “inappropriate” language used by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao against the Gandhi family and said it was not Telangana culture to wish people who helped shape Telangana well.
Talking to reporters on Sunday (July 19), he referred to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s role in the formation of Telangana and asked KTR how he could wish to harm Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, the children of the leader who made the state possible. “Is this Telangana culture?” he asked.
He was reacting to KTR’s comments against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi at ‘Yuva Sangramam’ on Saturday. If KTR was serious about the debate, he was ready to debate with him on the tasks assigned by the Congress.
Contrasting the Congress leadership with the BRS, Mr. Jagga Reddy alleged that while the family of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has always kept its commitments, the family of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has not kept its promises.
Highlighting the Congress government’s employment initiatives, he said the Rahul Gandhi-led Revanth Reddy government had issued appointment orders to 562 Group I candidates and filled about 70,000 vacancies across various government departments. He urged the BRS leader to discuss the government’s employment record with Mr. Revanth Reddy in the assembly.
