
Jagdeep Dhankhar, who surprised much with his decision to resign as a vice president, began to pack and expected to soon release the enclave of Vice President, people who introduced this development, said on Wednesday PTI.
Where does Dhankhar live?
In April last year, 74 -year -old Jagdeep Dhankhar moved to the newly built vice president Enclave, located on a Church Road near the Parliament complex. Enclave, which includes the residence and office of the Vice -president, was developed as part of the Central Vista Reedevelopment project.
He stayed at Enclave VP for almost 15 months.
The clerk said HT that shortly after Dhankhar presented his resignation in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, he ordered his staff to pack his belongings. “The package continues. And there is a sense of rush,” the clerk said.
Where will it be moved now?
As a former vice president, he is entitled to government bungalows.
“He (Dhankhar) will be offered bungalow type VIII in Delhi Lutyens or in another area,” said an official of the Ministry of City Development, as stated by PTI.
The VIII bungalow is usually assigned to ministers of trade unions or the presidents of national parties.
“Former vice -presidents usually receive a month to move to a retirement home.
Dhankhar resigned on Monday and quoted health reasons.
In his letter, Dhankhar said: “I resign as vice president of India, which is effective immediately in accordance with Article 67 (a) of the Constitution.”
“I am expanding my deepest gratitude of your excellence – Hon’ble President India for her steadfast support and a reassuring, amazing work relationship we maintained during our work,” he added.
He also expressed his deep gratitude to PM Modim and the Ministers’ Council. “The cooperation and support of the Prime Minister was invaluable and I learned a lot during my office,” he said.
While some of the Dhankhar family members are staying in Delhi, the former vice -president is preparing to move to a new bungalow of the assigned government.
