
YSRCP leaders from Gurazala constituency in Palnadu district met former chief minister and party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the party headquarters on Tuesday (March 31).
During the meeting, Akuri Venkata Reddy, a YSRCP leader from Ramapuram village in Dachepalli mandal, narrated his recent assassination attempt and alleged that he was brutally attacked by TDP members, leaving him severely injured.
Family members of YSRCP activists Kakumanu Bhavana Rishi and Bhuvanagiri Srinivasa Rao who belong to Padmashali BC community of Charlagudipadu village also met Jagan Mohan Reddy. They alleged that both were murdered by TDP supporters in February. The bereaved families expressed deep anguish and said that their relatives were targeted only for their active involvement in the YSRCP, leaving their families devastated.
Responding to their concerns, Mr. Jagan assured that the party stands firm with the victims and that no cadre should feel intimidated or insecure in the face of such incidents. He said that YSRCP will strongly resist political violence and ensure that justice is served.
He further announced that the party’s legal cell would provide all necessary support to the families of the victims. He criticized the police and claimed that their functioning contributed to an atmosphere of lawlessness.
Former Gurazala MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy, Akuri Venkata Reddy, family members of the victims and local YSRCP leaders Kommineni Venkateswarlu, Vemula Chalamayya, Janjanam Tirupati Rao, Saidayya, Chennareddy and Sheikh Imam Vali were present in the meeting.
