YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of misusing government institutions to file corruption cases against himself and persecute political opponents.
The former chief minister also alleged rampant corruption in the state under the NDA rule at the party office in Tadepalli, not far from here, on Thursday.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy further alleged that Mr. Naidu was “quietly arranging for the cases against him to be withdrawn in violation of the bail conditions”.
“Mr Naidu is intimidating officials, forcing them to file false statements and filing government applications to get his own cases dropped one by one,” he alleged.
“We will reveal the truth and educate people by showing the other side of the coin,” said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, adding, “We will fight the battle through courts. God and people are watching. One day they will get justice.”
Claiming that YSRCP’s signature campaign against “privatization of medical colleges” has received massive public support, he said signatures have been collected and a statement will be submitted to the Governor on December 16. “YSRCP will also file a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the government’s decision to privatize colleges,” he said.
He also accused the NDA government of implementing a “Red Book Constitution” driven by vindictive politics and nepotism and cited the death of 29 students allegedly due to contaminated food, hospitalization of inmates from unsanitary hostels, deterioration of mid-day meals, mounting fee arrears and cancellation of education reforms initiated by the YSRCP government.
He also mentioned the alleged adulteration of ghee in the preparation of Tirupati laddu prasadam and the TTD Parakamani theft cases, the “unfulfilled” promises of the Super Six, pending employee levies and problems at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that fake cases with fabricated evidence were planted by political opponents.
