The Joint Action Committee Andhra Pradesh (AP JAC) Amaravati, along with the Association of Contracts and Outsourcing of Employees, called on the government on Tuesday to address critical issues affecting almost 2.5 outsourcing employees in the state.
The delegation led by AP chairman Jac Bopparaju and the Secretary General of Paletthetti Damodar Rao submitted the representation of the Minister for the Municipal Administration and a member of the Cabinet Subcommittee on APCOS Pongur Narayan.
The key requirements included remedial problems in APCOS operations, the introduction of specialized HR policy, framing the rules of special services similar to that for Anganwadi and ASHA staff, and providing increments based on seniorities.
They also sought to restore social care programs, 30 days of annual paid medical leave, and strongly opposed the return to the private agency’s system for its history of exploitation and financial discrepancies.
The Minister assured the delegation that the subcommittee of the cabinet would carefully study concerns and repeated the government’s obligation to protect the rights of outsourcing employees.
He confirmed that APCOS would not be dismantled and would welcome future dialogue with employees’ associations to shape fair reforms.
