In an effort to suppress criticism that the Panakkad Syed Shihab Thangal’s family maintained a distance from Aryadan Shoukath over his past notes against them, the Indian EU Muslim League (IUML) gained the family’s support for a candidate for the Democratic Front (UDF) in Nilambur.
The President of the District of Iuml Syed Abbasali Shihab Thang, the youngest brother of the deceased Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thang, and the current side Supremo Syed Sadikali Shihab Thang on Tuesday led the campaign for Mr. Shoukath in Nilambur.
From certain neighborhoods, there was a criticism of the absence of any member of the Panakkad family Syed at the UDF inauguration Convention in Nilambur on Monday, attended by most of the top leaders of the front.
Despite the important IUML leaders such as PK Kunhalikutty, PV Abdul Wahab, MK Muneer, MP Abdussamad Samadani, PMA Salam and KPA Majed, who participate in convention, the absence of any Thangal has triggered a debate among UDF critics.
SenInostal member of the Panakkad family and President Iuml Syed Sadikali Shihab Thang is currently in Makkah, Saudi Arabia as part of a special delegation for the pilgrimage. “When I visited Panakkad, Thangal called me from Makkah and wishing me happiness, he assured me about his prayers for my victory,” said Mr. Shoukath.
Mr. Abbasali took part in the assembly in Mundei in the Sthukal Panchayat together with Mr. Shoukath and other Iuml leaders, such as PV Abdul Wahab, MP and PK Basheer, MLA. Abbasali, who addressed the assembly, said that Nilambur voters were given a gold chance to reject the alleged incorrect Democratic Forem (LDF) in the State.
Mr. Abbasali, who predicted the milestone for the UDF candidate, assured he would be firmly behind Mr. Shoukath until the climax of the elections. “Even CPI supporters (M) change the parties to vote for Mr. Shoukath, reflecting people’s desire for change,” he said.
