US President Donald Trump traveled on Tuesday at a new immigration center surrounded by swamps filled with alligators in Florida Everglades.
The retention center was dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz”, suggesting that this could be a model for future blocking nationwide, as its administrative plants have expanded the infrastructure necessary to increase deportations, reported the Associated Press (AP).
Trump said he would like to see similar facilities in “really, many countries” and increase the prospect of deportation of US citizens. He even agreed that the forces of the National Guard in Florida may serve as immigration judges to ensure that migrants were released from the country even faster.
“Soon this device will be able to handle the most terrible migrants, some of the most serious people on the planet,” Trump said about the Florida website known as “Alligator Alcatraz”.
The President said that the nickname is “very suitable because I looked outside and that is not the place I would like to go to hiking soon.”
“The only way out is deportation,” Trump quoted Associated Press.
Hundreds of demonstrators closer to the place – distant airport with tents and trailers. They waved symptoms calling for humane treatment of migrants and the protection of an expansion reserve, which is home to several Indian tribes and many endangered species.
Trump jokes: “Run from alligator if …”
The White House was pleased with the remoteness of this area – about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Miami – and the fact that Pythony and alligators are teeming.
He hopes to give the detained and rest of the world a message that the impacts will be serious unless the immigration laws of the United States are observed.
Before the arrival, Trump even joked that migrants were holding there. He said, “We will teach them how to escape from the alligator if they escape the prison.”
“It is not running in a straight line. Running like this,” Trump said as he moved his hand by a winding movement.
“And you know what? Your chances will rise by about 1%,” he added.
Alligators’ experts suggest that it is better to silence one direction in a rare situation where the reptile is persecuted, according to the website operated by the University of Florida.
Capacity
The authorities originally proposed that the retention center could accommodate up to 5,000 detainees after completion, but Desantis said it would actually hold about 3,000, some of which started on Wednesday.
The center was built in eight days after 10 miles (16 kilometers) Everglades. It has more than 200 safety cameras, 28,000 feet plus (8,500 meters) of barbed wire and 400 security staff.
The device lies about 37 miles (60 km) from Miami in a huge subtropical wetland that is teeming with alligators, crocodiles and pythons.
The alligator swims near the detention center of migrants called the “alligator Alcatraz”, located at the Dade-Collier training and transitional airport in Ochopee, Florida 1.
Trump rejected concerns about the impact on fine ecosystems and said that since he was there, the authorities might not “drop dirt”.
“I don’t think you have done anything,” Trump said. “I think you just improve it.”
Others, however, are horrified, including Phyllis Andrews, a retirement teacher who drove from Naples in Florida to protest against Trump’s visit and call migrants “quality people”.
“He doesn’t deserve to be imprisoned here,” Andrews said.
Part of the larger immigration pressure of Trump
Interventions against the American-mexic borders and hard immigration politicians have long been the highlight of Trump’s political brand.
Trump’s administration promised that mass deportations were coming, although some of these ideas are impractical. Transformation of Alcatraz from tourist attraction into prison would be very expensive and Guantanamo Bay is used less often than originally introduced administrative officials.
The Everglades website has fettered quickly
Florida plans to offer members of the National Guard to “send” and help immigration judges as a way to release other judges in the long -term immigration court in the country.
“The guard could ensure safety along the district and checkpoints and assistance to employees of the page,” the officials say.
The detention center has an estimated annual cost of $ 450 million, but civil servants say that at least something will be included in the federal agency for emergency management – which is best known for responding to hurricanes and other natural disasters.
