The employee described tireless work pressure, unrealistic objectives and toxic work culture as some of the main challenges faced by the employees of the bank. According to the paper, officers often sell credit cards, insurance and loans, with little regard to feasibility, even at rural branches.
“They want us to sell insurance, credit cards, loans … like I’m a banker, not a street seller. The pressure is continuous. The narration of the rural branch to make FD 1 crore every day,” Reddit wrote.
The contribution also emphasized the serious lack of employees and long working hours. “There are three of us who do six people work. You can’t even go to the bathroom without being crazy,” added the user, telling how they were forced to work until 21:00, even though they had a high fever just to tell him, “We all work up to 10, why do you complain?”
An anonymous banker said he often feels imprisoned by the illusion of employment, because the ending of government status is often negatively perceived by family and society.
