Gill, 25 years, was named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2025 and Indian player of the series after five games in the competition, including four centuries, recorded 754 runs on average 75.40. It was his fourth monthly ICC prize, which also won in February this year and twice in 2023.Shastri said, “There is no doubt, SHUBMAN GILL that he will be for a long time because we have seen what kind of series he had here. The former head coach of India also emphasized Gill’s temperament and elegance at the fold. “He’s up there. He’ll be up there. He’s folded. He’s very royal. He’s, you know when you look at him, there’s something royal about him. The way bats are very easy, very smooth and has the ability to play long shifts,” Sky Sports said. The Gill series included the historical double century in Edgbaston, where he produced 269 in the first shifts and followed it with 161 in the second to create a 336 victory. His combined 430 runs in the match was the second highest in test history and he became the first Indian captain to win a double ton in England.
