Silver Beach in Cuddalore will soon become a tourist friendly destination. The Cuddalore district administration has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private player to set up recreational facilities at the beach.
According to official sources, the MoU was signed at the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026 held in Chennai recently. Under this agreement, Silver Beach will be upgraded to attract more locals and tourists. The proposed facilities include a park, car park, modern recreational facilities, food court, improved road infrastructure and an outlet for women’s self-help groups.
Pondy Marina, a private firm, will invest ₹15 crore over the next few years. A detailed project report will be presented on the initiative, which aims to increase the attractiveness of the beach and cater to the growing number of visitors. The initiative will help improve the local economy and boost tourism, the administration said.
