IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who is on an official visit to Australia, has invited CEOs of leading Australian firms of Indian origin to partner the state in its growth journey ‘Rising Telangana’.
The minister, who was attending a business conclave organized by the Center for Australia-India Relations in Sydney, pointed out that Telangana has emerged as one of the fastest growing states in India, on the back of a strong economic base, stable governance and progressive leadership, and argued for attracting investment.
Telangana has emerged as a safe and globally attractive investment destination, offering world-class infrastructure, transparent governance and a conducive political framework. He showcased the state’s TG-iPASS single-window clearance system, a progressive industrial policy and a robust innovation ecosystem that supports both large-scale and emerging industries, the minister’s office said in his interaction.
Assuring that the government will provide full facilitation and support to industries and investors looking to set up or expand operations in the state, Mr. Sridhar Babu spoke about the ongoing effort to build an industry-ready workforce through strategic collaboration with global and national institutions. He urged investors to explore opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, machine learning, gaming, animation, VFX, as well as semiconductors, aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, green energy and electric vehicle manufacturing.
On Friday, Mr Sridhar Babu visited the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne and held discussions with several Australian legislators on legislative procedures, parliamentary procedure and public accountability frameworks. The minister suggested strengthening institutional collaboration between Telangana and Victoria, particularly in areas related to governance innovation, public policy research and digital transformation. Government Whip in the Legislative Council of Victoria Lee Tarlamis and Parliamentary Secretary for Outpatient Services Sheena Watt praised Telangana’s reformed administration.
In another engagement, Mr. Sridhar Babu met senior officials of Monash University in Melbourne and invited the institution to collaborate with the state.
