A video allegedly showing Israeli attacks on Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport appeared on social media on Saturday. Footage showed a large fireball and sky filling the sky.
Video could not be verified minty.
The video emerged after Israel’s military said it was carrying out a “large-scale” wave of strikes against regime targets in the Iranian capital.
On March 7, Israel said it launched “large-scale” strikes on targets in Tehran after Iranian state television reported an explosion in the western part of the city.
On March 6, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it launched its 15th wave of airstrikes against the Iranian terrorist regime’s infrastructure in Tehran.
“The IDF has now launched a broad wave of attacks against the infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime in Tehran and Isfahan,” the IDF said, adding in another tweet that it had “hit a senior commander of the Iranian terrorist regime in Tehran.”
The IDF also shared a video it claimed showed it “destroyed (Supreme Leader) Ali Khamenei’s underground bunker that was built under the leadership of the regime.”
“This morning, approximately 50 Air Force fighter jets, under the precise guidance of the Intelligence Directorate and in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Directorate, attacked the underground bunker of Ali Khamenei, which was built under the leadership of the Iranian terrorist regime in the heart of Tehran,” the IDF said.
On 5 March, the Israel Defense Forces said that in a “nighttime activity”, the Israeli Air Force “hit and dismantled an armed ballistic missile launcher in the Qom area that was prepared to fire on Israel”.
“Iran’s air defense system was also hit in Isfahan. Before the attacks, the IDF took several measures to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians,” the IDF said while sharing the video on X.
The US and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28 after negotiations on a nuclear deal between Washington and Tehran broke down. Iran has retaliated against US-Israeli drone and missile attacks.
The consequences of the ongoing conflict are also being witnessed in other parts of the Middle East, where Iran is allegedly attacking the US embassies in the neighboring cities of Bahrain, Riyadh, Kuwait and Qatar.
