Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, June 16, suggested that the murder of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran rather than escalate it.
In an interview with ABC News, Netanyahu was asked to report that US President Donald Trump had previously blocked the Israeli plan to focus on Khamenei and feared that he would intensify the tension and potentially ignite the wider war.
“End conflict, not escalate”: Netanyahu
“It will not escalate the conflict, the conflict will end,” Netanyahu said, defending the controversial idea as a definitive solution to what he described as an Iranian persistent aggressive campaign.
Netanyahu accused Iran of extending hostility in the region and pushing the world to a nuclear disaster.
Netanyahu accuses Iran of driving “forever war”
“” Forever War “is what Iran wants and bring us to the brink of nuclear wars,” he said. “In fact, what Israel is doing is to prevent this, end this aggression, and we can only do it by standing on the forces of evil.”
Israeli strikes deal with the main strike to the Iranian nuclear program
Netanyahu said that recent Israeli strikes had significantly delayed the Iranian nuclear program and returned it “for a very long time”.
Netanyahu noted that he would not be surprised that he would not be surprised if the current Iranian government was due to the ongoing military action, which insists that the change in the regime in Tehran is not the goal of Israel.
“The regime is very weak,” he said, adding that he remains in everyday contact with US President Donald Trump.
Israel hits Iranian state television
The hostility Aviv Tehran-Tel intensifies on the 4th day of the conflict, with strikes on the media, military and civilian goals across the two countries
The conflict of Israel and Iran appeared on Monday (June 16) at a new level of intensity when Israel intervened during the live broadcast by the Iranian state television station, shortly after Iran launched a new wave of missiles killed at least eight people in Israel.
The strike at the Iranian state television station in Central Tehran was preceded by an Israeli warning of evacuation affecting more than 330,000 inhabitants. The warning, released on the fourth day of hostility, focused on an area that would be placed by the Iranian national transmitter and a police residence that Israel claimed to have doubled as military operational coverage.
During the live broadcast, the Iranian reporter was seen as he rushed from the camera as an explosion appeared behind her. The screen suddenly interrupted to a pre -recorded programming in the middle of dust filling messages. The Iranian state media later confirmed that the strike was interrupted by live broadcasts.
“Full air superiority over Tehran”
Brig. Gene. Effie Defrin, an Israeli military spokesman, said Israel had “full of air superiority over Tehran’s sky”. He said that Israel’s forces destroyed more than 120 missile launchers-as a third of the Iranian arsenal-and shot two nozzles of the F-14 used to target Israeli aircraft. Israel also struck 10 Quds Force command centers in Tehran and described the strikes as a “deep and complex wound of Iranian threat”.
Iran promises retaliation, starts more missiles
In response, Iran launched about 100 missiles focused on Israeli cities and promised further retaliation for strikes that destroyed its nuclear and military infrastructure. The number of victims has increased to at least 224 since Friday, although groups of rights estimate more than 400 deaths, including almost 200 civilians.
Civilian bids in Israel
At least 24 people and more than 500 have been killed in Israel since the beginning of the conflict. Iranian missiles hit Tel Aviv, Petah Tikva and Haifa, hit residential buildings and infrastructure. Soon the morning blow to the HAIFY oil refinery killed three workers, while a separate missile hit a residential building in Petah Tikva and injured dozens.
One rocket landed near the American Consulate in Tel Aviv, forced US ambassador Mike Huckabee to confirm that no US staff was injured, although damage was reported.
Escalation after Israeli air strikes
His comments come in the middle of a large escalation of enemy after Israel 13. Civilian victims have increased on both sides and concerns that the conflict could be spiral into a wider regional war.
Global leaders have issued an urgent challenge to reduce, while diplomatic channels remain frozen.
