Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a fire warning on Thursday, June 19 after Iranian missile strikes damaged the hospital in South Israel and hit the residential areas near Tel Aviv, at least 240 people were injured.
“This morning, terrorist tyranny Iranian missiles in Sorok Hospital in Beersheb and the civilian population in the middle of the country,” Netanyahu said in a post on x. “Although we are full of price from tyrants in Tehran.”
Netanyahu in Beersheb added, “We are determined to destroy … the threat of nuclear destruction.”
Hospital destroyed, dozens of injured
The missile strike caused alarms across the southern Israel and caused a massive fire in Soroka Hospital, one of the primary healthcare facilities in the region.
Forty people suffered injuries.
“Several departments were completely demolished and there was extensive damage throughout the hospital,” said Codish, director of the hospital.
The Red Cross International Committee condemned the attack and reminded both parties that “hospitals must be respected and protected under international law”.
Iran says she focused on a military base
Iranian officials deliberately deny the hospital to intervene and stated that the intended goal was a nearby military intelligence website. Israeli officials, however, rejected this statement as deflection.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said, “It was a deliberate and brutal attack. When you come across a hospital there is no mistake.”
