The UN Atomic Wedding Dog said on Friday that it would risk a nuclear disaster in the Middle East if Israel strikes the Bushehr nuclear plant.
Rafael Grossi, CEO of the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA), told the UN Security Council that he had not yet found any radiation due to the weekly military attack of Israel on Iran, including attacks on his nuclear places.
He warned, however, that the strike on Bushehr – the first civilian nuclear reactor in the Middle East, which seems to have been spared – would lead to the most serious consequences, because thousands of kilograms of nuclear material are placed in the facility.
“An armed attack on nuclear devices should never take place and could lead to radioactive release with great consequences inside and beyond the state that was attacked,” he said.
He said the countries in the region expressed concern about it.
“The countries of the region have approached me in the last few hours to express their concerns, and I want to do it absolutely and quite clearly – in the event of an attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant, direct intervention would lead to a very high release of radioactivity,” Grossi said.

IAEA director also warned that the consequences would be desperate, although Israel will hit the lines that give electricity Bushehr, because such banning energy can lead to nuclear collapse.
In the worst case, Grossi warned that people living in several hundreds of Bushehr would have to evacuate or be ordered to hide. They may include population centers in the Gulf of Persian monarchies, the main artery of the global economy.
The population will also face limiting food supply and have to take iodine, Grossi said.
The construction on Bushehr began in the 1970s.
The German scientists initially worked at the race, but since the age of 90, the Islamic Republic has worked with Russia to develop and maintain Bushehr.
Grossi dismissed the diplomatic solution and repeated his willingness to travel to negotiate an agreement.
“IAEA can guarantee through a waterproof inspection system that nuclear weapons will not be developed in Iran,” he said.
