Israel reportedly aimed at the nuclear place of ISFAHAN in Iran as the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned against attacks on Iranian nuclear reactors, especially its only commercial nuclear power plant in Bushehr.
“The Iranian nuclear side of ISFAHAN was focused on Israel, no leakage of dangerous materials,” said the Iranian news agency Fars on Saturday.
Nuclear Watchdog warning
Rafael Grossi, Chief of the UN Guards Dog, earlier, focused on an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, warned against attacks on Iranian nuclear reactors.
He was quoted by the Associated Press agency as: “I want to do it completely and quite clearly: in the event of an attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant, direct intervention would lead to a very high release of radioactivity into the environment.”
“This is a nuclear place in Iran, where the consequences could be the most serious,” Grossi said.
Israel focuses on Iranian nuclear spots
So far, Israel has not focused on Iranian nuclear reactors. Instead, she focused her strikes on the main facility of Uranus in Natanz, centrifugal workshops near Tehran, Laboratory in ISFAHAN and heavy water reactor Arak southwest of the capital.
Grossi said that Israeli attacks on nuclear places in Natanz and Isfahan and Arak Heavy Water Plant have not yet led to any radiological relaxation. He repeatedly warned that such places should not be military goals.
He said that an Israeli military official erroneously reported on Thursday that Bushehr was hit by an air strike, but Israel then withdrew this claim. He said the confusion “emphasized the fundamental need for clear and accurate communication.”
Iran-Israel conflict
The Israelis launched air strikes on Friday, June 13, and hit dozens of targets across Iran, including nuclear places, as well as killing several of the best military commanders and nuclear scientists.
Iran described the attack as the “declaration of war” and threatened with a retaliation by opening “Gates of Hell” on Israel.
In retaliation, Iran fired hundreds of ballistic missiles in Israel in response to an unprecedented attack on her nuclear devices and escalated the conflict between the sworn enemies that threaten to engulf in the Middle East rich in oil.
