The Israeli government spokesman said on Sunday that the release of the hostages held in Gaza will start early Monday morning. “We expect all of all 20 of our live hostages to be released at once on the Red Cross,” said Shosh Bedrosian, a spokesman for the government.
According to Bedrosian, the hostage will be transported in “six to eight vehicles”. The liberated hostages will first be taken to the Israeli regions in Gaza before being transported to South Israel, where they will meet their families.
Medical and humanitarian readiness
“Israel is ready if a living hostage requires some urgent medical attention – they will be immediately brought to a medical facility,” Bedrosian said.
The return of the deceased hostages
After the release of the live prisoners, Israel is also preparing to accept bodies of 28 deceased hostages.
“We are ready to accept bodies from 28 late hostages after the release of live hostages,” the spokesman said. “The whole Israeli nation will accept them and ensure the right Jewish funerals.”
Trum Trum Administration of Israeli Parliament
US President Donald Trump will visit Israel on Monday before traveling to Egypt Sharm El-Sheikh to the main peace summit.
Trump is expected to deal with the Israeli parliament and meet the hostage families before leaving for Egypt.
According to the Cairo Foreign Ministry, it is expected that during the summit the “document will end the war in Gaza”.
Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh
Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi will co-chair the summit that will include leaders from more than 20 countries.
The Egyptian Presidency said that the meeting is “to end the war in the Gaza Strip, to improve efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, and announces a new era of regional security”.
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Giorgia Meloni, Spanish Pedro Sanchez and France Emmanuel Macron will be among the participants. Hamas and Israel are not expected to participate.
Scenes of relief and despair
