The Indian Super League (ISL) organizers told the clubs that the issue of 2025-26 will not be launched until the clarity of the Master’s agreement (MRA) signed with the All India (AIFF) Football Federation (AIFF) will build the highest interest in limbo. Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), which operates ISL, is a commercial partner of AIFF, with which the National Federation signed a 15 -year MRA in 2010.
Within MRA, FSDL pays Crore AIFF RS 50 annually. FSDL, in turn, acquires the rights to broadcast, administration and commercialization of Indian football, including the national team.

“The FSDL verbally told the owners of the ISL club that the next edition will not start until it is clarified,” said the source of development to develop PTI under the conditions of anonymity.
“MRA ends in December and it is not clear whether a new agreement will be renewed or a new agreement will be signed.”
However, the AIFF said FSDL said nothing about the fate of the Isl of the National Federation.
“We didn’t have any communication from the FSDL,” said Deputy Secretary Aiff M Sataanarayan, asking if the league would start in time.
In the last two seasons, Isl began in September. According to another source, FSDL has learned to create a new holding company that operates ISL, with participating clubs (60%), FSDL (26%) and AIFF (14%) as shareholders.
“Perhaps there may be other measures for other properties such as I-League, national teams, etc., but from now on it is very sketchy in terms of what FSDL and AIFF want,” the source said.
The matter also became complex after the Directive of the Supreme Court to AIFF, so that it would not take any major decisions until the final decision on the ongoing case on the Constitution of the National Federation was issued. 30th April SC reserved its judgment.
In April he created an AIFF eight -member working group that focuses on the MRA meeting with FSDL. Former Indian Captain Bhaichung Bhutia, who is also a member of the AIFF Executive Committee, then said brass to wait for the Supreme Court’s judgment probably coming in July.
“If SC manages new AIFF elections, MRA will have to negotiate new offices and it will take time,” the former official said.
“Still, there may be enough time to make it happen 2025-26, maybe pressing the schedule or by extending the end date. This is the best scenario.”
2025-26 Calendar issued last month did not mention Isl
AIFF last month released a calendar of the 2025-26 season competition And there was no mention of Isl. However, the source said the calendar was for events that come directly under the AIFF and ISL plan is listed only after consultation with the FSDL.
“Nothing was interpreted from the calendar. At first it was released last month and secondly, it was intended for events that perform AIFF directly,” the source said.
“ISL is not directly performed by AIFF, so the ISL data was not there in the calendar. In addition, the AIFF always consults FSDL before announcing the ISL data. Therefore, there is nothing about Isl.”
