After the video of the British YouTuber ‘Cenzo’, which eats chicken from KFC inside the vegetarian restaurant Iskcon’s Govinda in London, it caused public outrage, Iskcon London said that if the Hindu Holy Book “Gita could be taught at schools and universities”.
The incident occurred last week in a popular clean vegetarian restaurant. Cenzo, which is from African origin, entered the restaurant and asked if meat was served. When he learned that this was not the case, KFC chicken food continued to eat.
He even offered chicken food to nearby patrons and employees. The whole incident was captured on the camera and the video became viral on social media.
Soon, Cenzo was removed from the restaurant by staff.
The ISKCON London statement
In an official statement published on July 20, ISKCON London said: “If the truth of Git could be taught at schools and universities, then such unwanted negotiations against innocent persons would cease.”
“Every child should know that we are not these temporary material bodies and minds, but rather we are eternal ghosts and servants of the highest personality of divinity, Sri Krishna,” he said.
IskCon, who called all living beings “spiritual sparks” originating in the highest source, said that all lives are sacred and should be respected.
He also said, “We will forgive and sincerely pray for the perpetrators of this dignified act who probably do not know because of ignorance or simply do not care about the pain they cause by causing such childish videos.”
“May he wake up to divine consciousness when he sees all living beings as straight on the spiritual platform to no longer assess and act on the basis of superficial considerations to appreciate the beauty of culture, tradition, moral values and truths and understand that the real model of peace is the highest in loving devotion,” added Iskcon London.
YouTuber issues an apology
Meanwhile, Cenzo released an apology via video. He claimed he didn’t know about the religious legacy of the restaurant.
