The government has called for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to be included in the school curriculum so that children understand the importance of critical care when people are suffering from heart problems. Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) General Secretary Sachin Gupta, Vizianagaram Chapter Convenor of the association and Sukhibhava Hospital Director PSV Ramarao were speaking at a workshop organized by ISCCM at Sun School on Saturday (December 6, 2025).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gupta said that simple techniques learned in CPR will help people to save the lives of persons in a risk condition. Dr. PSV Ramarao said CPR would save precious lives as many youngsters are also affected by heart and other problems due to drastic lifestyle changes. He said including CPR in the curriculum would allow children to gain hands-on experience as well as training. The workshop was attended by school chairman Anil Kumar and others.
