Amid the launch of an aggressive crackdown on immigration and H-1B visas, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Saudi investors can bring their own workers to the US, who in turn can teach Americans.
Trump made the remarks during a keynote speech at a business meeting at the Saudi Investment Conference, a day after he hosted Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler Mohammed bin Salman at the White House.
Trump said at the summit, “If you come here and if you find that we don’t have people who worked here before, we allow you to (bring people in). We want you to open those plants, and we want you to teach our people to make computer chips and stuff.”
Trump added that he could take some heat from the people — the people who love him and the people he loves.
“You can’t go in and open a huge billion-dollar computer chip factory like they’re doing in Arizona and think you’re going to hire people out of unemployment. They have to bring thousands of people with them, and I welcome those people,” Trump said.
Trump said he loved his conservative friends, adding: “I love MAGA, but this is MAGA and these people are going to teach our people how to make computer chips and in a short time our people will be great.
During the speech, Trump said that 270 billion worth of deals and sales are being signed between dozens of companies at the US-Saudi investment forum.
“I want to thank you for bringing all these jobs and all these great opportunities to America.
In a message to all leaders and investors at the forum, Trump said that under the Trump administration, America is back — and America is open for business.
Trump slanders Joe Biden
Trump also attacked the former president, saying he secured Joe Biden less than $1 trillion in four long years.
“In nine short months, I secured $18 trillion to rebuild our factories, create hundreds of thousands of jobs and bring back those beautiful words – MADE IN AMERICA.
The US president also claimed that 1.9 million more American-born workers are employed today than when he took office.
“Under Biden, 1 in 4 new jobs went to increasing the size of the federal government. Under my administration, 100% of all new jobs created came from the private sector.”
Trump said a company called GE Aerospace would supply dozens of new jet engines for 787 Dreamliners to Saudi Arabia.
“Every new job and every new factory created by these announcements builds our middle class and strengthens America’s industrial backbone.”
