TThe relationship between the CPI government (m) has a left democratic front (LDF) in Kerala and Governor has been more or less calm with two rare exceptions in recent decades.
At the end of the 80s. There was a throw -in between CPI (M) and the governor during the two -year tenure Ram Dulari Sinha, who was the former Minister of the Union and the State Minister of Bihar. The then ruling front locked corners with a governor for the nomination of several members for the Senates of Keral and Calicut University according to her choice, ignoring the recommendations of the state government. LDF set out on streets protesting against the governor and even organized marches to Raj Bhavan. Later, the LDF government also adopted a resolution in the assembly and condemned its “autocratic actions”.
Some of the young leaders of the Indian Federation of Students who were at the forefront of these protests later graduated in politics to become state ministers in the second LDF government led by Pinaraya Vijayan, who again intervened a collision course with Governor Keral Arif Moammad Khan.
Although Mr. Khan began his term of office as a governor by saying that he wanted to help the state government, the relationship was necessary in no time. Both the governor and the government have froze their positions in a number of issues concerning the state. At one point, the chief minister and governor even refused to recognize and exchanged smiles, not if they were pleased while participating in public positions. The governor also criticized the government at press conferences and called on activists of the Indian Student Federation, who protested against him on the streets to stand directly with him and call them criminals. When Mr. Khan was later appointed Governor Bihar, the LDF government decided not to give him a solemn posting.
Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar, a former worker of the party Bharatiya Janata (BJP), was the next governor. He began his office with the government with the government, although the litigation against the former governor remained waiting for the Supreme Court. Mr. Arlekar surprised anyone who expected that the conflict between the governor and the government would continue to connect with the main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Minister of the Union of Nirmal Sithaman for breakfast in the house of Keraral in Nový Delhi.
However, the recent significant judgment of the Supreme Court came to the Governor and the State Government at the most unfavorable time. The Court of Justice said that Governor Tamil Nadu RN Ravi’s prolonged refusal to issue 10 accounts for an illegal and erroneous law to act by the governors and the president under the laws that approved the state.
Kerala was one of the states that took Governor to the Supreme Court. It also set the legal and political circles of the state of Apuzz with its surprising decision to file an appeal with the Supreme Court after President Drougen Murmu retreated his consent for four accounts approved by the legislature of Keral without revealing any reasons.
The LDF government quickly argued that the Top Court confirmed its attitude on this issue by determining the timeline for the governors and the president, who will act as proposed by the proposal, in a petition filed, even though the Supreme Court should consider its case only in May. However, it was surprised when Mr. Alekar gave an interview with the media, which described the order of the Supreme Court as a court exceeding. This has led to concern that the bonhomy between the governor and the government may not take long.
However, the government approached the situation with abundant caution, and the ministers who responded to the Governor’s statement were careful not to let it out. They also seemed to limit themselves to the legal issues discussed in the Supreme Court’s order and not the crusades with the governor.
So far, there is no time for the government to rejoice, because the final judgment on issues they raised will only be initiated by the Supreme Court next month. It is also concerned that the court may file this case on the bench of the Constitution. This means that the government will have to manage the current situation with extreme caution.
