There were even calls for him to be fast-tracked into the Indian team. But two years later, the dashing pacer found him struggling with injuries and missing a lot of matches. So when everyone saw him back in the LSG lineup and he looked in good form, everyone thought he would be one of the first names in the lineup for the LSG clash.

However, this was not the case and the pacer didn’t even find a place on the substitutes’ bench for the clash at the Ekana Stadium. In the end, Mayank Yadav’s extra pace could have helped Lucknow as they lost to Delhi by 6 wickets.
LSG batsman Mukul Choudhary revealed after the match that Mayank is fully fit and the decision to play him is up to the captain and the team management.
“He is fit. The rest is the team management and the captain and how they plan to use him,” Mukul said.
Mayank last played for LSG in the IPL in May 2025.
MUKUL AT PANT’S ADVICE
Mukul has been picked as LSG’s finisher this season and despite a slow start, he said he has the support of the team management and captain Rishabh Pant. The hard-hitting batsman said Pant told him to back off fully and not put too much pressure and play his natural game.
“Yes, when we had the pre-season camp in Chennai, we spoke. He said don’t create too much pressure, we will fully support you. Play your natural game. You keep adding things according to the situation. Even after that, he says the same – no need to take pressure, just do what you think, play your game,” Mukul said.
LSG will face SRH on April 5 in Hyderabad.
