
The blast in Delhi on the evening of November 10 shocked the nation in which around 9 people lost their lives and 20 were injured. A high-intensity explosion occurred in a moving Hyundai i20 at the Subhash Marg traffic light on Monday at 7:00 pm. just a few meters from the iconic Red Fort. Several vehicles were blown away in the explosion.
Soon after the blast, security was beefed up at the city’s border crossings and vehicle checks intensified as Delhi was on the highest alert. Hours after the blast, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sounded a high alert across the country. Airports, Delhi Metro, monuments, government buildings and other key installations under CISF security cover are on high alert.
In a post on X, the CISF said, “Following an explosion in a vehicle near Red Fort Metro Station, installations secured by CISF in the National Capital Region (NCR) including Delhi Metro, Red Fort, Government Buildings and IGI Airport have been put on high alert. The situation is being continuously monitored and personnel are on alert.”
Several states are on high alert today, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar. In connection with the blast, the Delhi Police registered a case under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.
In a statement, Delhi Police said, “A case has been registered under Sections 16, 18 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of Explosives Act and BNS at Kotwali police station,” ANI reported.
Delhi Traffic Police issues travel advisory
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a travel advisory and announced road closures mainly in areas around Netaji Subhash Marg. The travel advisory came into effect at 6am today and the restrictions will continue until further notice.
The advisory said, “On 11.11.25 due to emergency, traffic restrictions and detours will be in place on both carriageways and service roads of Netaji Subhash Marg from Chatta Rail Cut to Subhash Marg Cut. Commuters are advised to avoid these routes from 06:00 AM onwards to comply with the next order and use alternative routes for smooth travel.”
He added, “No vehicles will be allowed on Netaji Subhash Marg from Chatta Rail Cut to Subhash Marg Cut on that day and vice versa.
The US Embassy issues travel advisories and safety alerts for its citizens
The US Embassy in India has issued a travel advisory and security warning for its citizens living in India. The US Embassy said: “Avoid areas around Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi and crowds; follow local media updates; be aware of surroundings; be vigilant in places frequented by tourists.”
