A man from Bengalur launched a debate about Reddit after claiming that the IT center was the “most expensive city” that lives in India. Creating a comparison of his experience in Pune, Ahmedabad and Mumbai – and what he heard from people in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and – shared a detailed post of high life costs in Bengalur. From steep prices of rent to expensive food and overall expensive lifestyle, his post painted a live image of the financial tribe of the city.
To further support his argument, the man compared spending in various Indian metropolitan cities and emphasized how everyone had at least one aspect – whether it was housing, food or transport – which was more accessible than in Bengalur. But he claimed that when it came to Bengalur, nothing was cheap. He also said that even a “monthly salary £50,000 to £60 000 ”was not enough to maintain a” nuclear family “in the city.
When the post quickly became viral, it caused a wave of reactions from Netizens. While some agreed with a person, most dealt with their own comparisons, the names of other cities and their expenditures – suggests that Bengaluru was actually relatively cheaper in some aspects. “Bengaluru is the most expensive city that lives in India,” he read the post.
The post was shared on Reddit, describing “Optimal-Animal-90” and triggered many upvots.
“Mumbai Street Food is on a different level in terms of price and quantity. No comparison at all,” the user said. “Bangalore is nowhere, I do not repeat as expensive as Mumbai.
“Hyd is as expensive as Bangalore, I have recently seen since the last 1 year,” another asked. “Guru, I stay in Pune and I just want to go back to Bengalur. Food infra is so poor here,” added the fourth person.
“You’ve seen the bomber prices in Mumbai? I had to for a hotel that had no windows, just a room that was slightly larger than the crib. Bangalore isn’t just a gateway in the electronic city of Whitefield Sarjapur!” added another person.
“I stayed in Mumbai and Bangalore and the only thing in Mumbai is alcohol. FFS I remember I paid 120 for Masala DOSA,” another added.
