As he looks for a maiden title with Punjab Kings, the former India all-rounder is concerned that he needs to focus on his swing with the new balls. Arshdeep played a very important role in India winning the title, taking 9 wickets in 8 matches. During the Super 8s, Arshdeep surpassed Jasprit Bumrah (33 wickets) to become India’s leading wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history. Despite his outstanding performance ahead of IPL 2026, Irfan Pathan believes that Arshdeep has lost his swing in the new balls.

RCB’s big changes ahead of IPL: New rules, tribute and squad update On his YouTube channel, Pathan said: “Arshdeep, who was your highest wicket-taker, has been taking wickets consistently. One thing he will definitely have to focus on is how he bowls with the new ball. Because he hasn’t bowled much with the new ball in the last year or a little less than a year as I have observed.” Pathan acknowledged that Arshdeep’s stats have dipped with the new ball and he needs to pay attention to that.“His stats have dipped a bit compared to pre and post Asia Cup when it comes to bowling new balls. He will have to pay attention to that and also watch his economy,” Pathan said.
