(Bloomberg) – Iranian Foreign Minister said that the country is ready to continue to effort to solve its nuclear distance, but calls cooperation with the atomic watch dog UN “insufficient”.
In the comments published on Sunday on his official telegram channel and addressed foreign diplomats in Tehran Abbas Araghchi said that Iran is “ready to strive for any solution to build confidence” in his nuclear situation and add “now to Western countries to prevent Iranian cooperation or negotiations.
Notes come a week after US and European powers urged Iran to return to the negotiating table after a re -ordinance of hard UN sanctions, which were abolished under Iranian nuclear agreements of 2015. As a result of Israeli and American air strikes in June.
In September, before returning the UN sanctions, Iran and Vienna IAEA, she announced a framework agreement in Cairo to allow inspectors back to the country. But Araghchi said Accord is insufficient.
“Due to new circumstances, including the Snapback mechanism that Cairo is no longer enough and new decisions are made,” Araghchi said. He failed to clarify the future involvement of Iran with the IAEA, but his comments meant a shift from Tehran’s earlier threats to leave a contract for non -spreading nuclear weapons and suspend cooperation with the agency if the UN sanctions were restored.
Araghchi also said that the role of European countries in potential future interviews “clearly decrease”. He was an Iranian main negotiator in interviews with Trump’s administration, who collapsed after the Israeli strike on 13 June on Tehran – days before both parties met in Oman on the sixth round of negotiations.
“Even now, if both sides show good will and take into account mutual interests, the negotiations can continue,” Araghchi said. “However, recent steps in the UN Security Council have made this process more difficult.”
