Iranian International Airport Imam Khomeini officially re -opened the sky for international air transport after 20 days of suspension.
The first foreign flight, Flydubai flight from the United Arab Emirates, landed on Wednesday, only after extensive security and diplomatic coordination.
Go back to stability
Mehdi Ramezani, a spokesman for the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, confirmed a successful landing on the student news network and emphasized the extensive security and diplomatic coordination that preceded the flight, and reported.
Landing means a “new phase of stability” for the Iranian air sector, Ramezani said in his statement and spoke of disruption caused by recent tension with Israel.
Due to the conflict of Israel and Iran, several airlines have suspended or redirected flights and countries like Iraq, Jordan and Iran closed their air space for safety concerns.
12 -day conflict and ceasefire
The 20 -day suspension of international flights was a direct consequence of a recent bloody 12 -day conflict between Iran and Israel, the press agency reported.
The hostility began on June 13, 2025, when Israel launched “Rising Lion” and focused on Iranian nuclear and various military facilities.
After Israel focused on numerous Iranian military infrastructure and nuclear places, Iran responded to Israeli attacks by burning missiles in Israel.
The conflict also escalated and Iran also hit the US base in Qatar.
Direct hostility ended after Iran and Israel agreed to the ceasefire that mediated the US last month. The US helped in de-schooling, including the deployment of bombs “bunker-bunker” to three Iranian key nuclear locations before the example, the press agency reported.
