Iran War News LIVE Update: US President Donald Trump says renewed fighting with Iran will not last “too long”, adding that the US is ready to attack Iran “at any time”. Meanwhile, Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei said Washington would soon witness Tehran’s “new strategy” for war, according to Al Jazeera.
A few days after the escalation of the conflict, the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, announced the number of people injured in the latest US attacks on Iran.
He said 142 people were injured in the attack, including 61 women and 44 people under the age of 18. A total of 18 people were killed in the attacks, including two women and a child, Kermanpour said.
The US military carried out more strikes on Iran on Tuesday, prompting Tehran to attack Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait despite President Donald Trump’s warning that Iran would be “hit a lot harder” if it retaliates.
The latest round of tit-for-tat strikes began after the U.S. and Iran traded strikes overnight for the first time in more than a month on Monday, on markets that threatened to renew a devastating conflict after weeks of relative military calm.
Despite Trump’s warning, Iran has vowed a “crushing” response, launching ballistic missiles toward Jordan and drones toward Bahrain and Kuwait, saying they were targeting US military assets.
Trump’s proposal to rename the Strait of Hormuz
US Senator Bernie Sanders responded to Donald Trump’s proposal to rename the Strait of Hormuz the “Strait of Trump”.
In a post on X, Sanders said: “No, Mr. Trump. The American people do not want you to rename the Strait of Hormuz after you.”
“They want you to end your illegal war in Iran that has raised diesel prices to $5.69 a gallon and gas prices to $4.12 a gallon.”
“You’re the president, not a mad king. Act like it,” Sanders added.
