Iran US War News LIVE: Just hours after Donald Trump appeared unsatisfied with the peace deal talks with the White House, rejecting Iranian media claims that Iran and the United States had successfully negotiated a preliminary plan to halt hostilities in West Asia, America launched new strikes on parts of Iran. In its latest attacks, the US has targeted the area around the Strait of Hormuz. A US official defended the attacks, saying they posed a threat to US forces and commercial shipping. The US military strikes, which were not previously reported, came during negotiations to end the three-month-old war that has killed thousands and sent global energy prices soaring since it began on February 28 with attacks by the US and Israel.
Around 1:30 a.m. local time, three explosions were heard east of the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas. It is the second time the US has launched strikes against Iran amid an ongoing ceasefire, which Iran has called a violation of the countries’ fragile ceasefire.
