Air India and Air India Express have canceled several flights scheduled to operate between India and West Asian regions on Sunday, March 15, citing airport restrictions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The curbs have forced both carriers to curtail some ad-hoc operations involving additional flights operating outside the regular schedule to handle higher passenger demand.
Meanwhile, IndiGo said it has canceled flights to and from Dubai due to continued airspace restrictions related to the escalating conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
IndiGo informs flyers about the disruption
In X’s latest post (previously on Twitter), IndiGo, the country’s largest airline by market capitalization, noted that the disruption could affect several flights in Dubai and advised passengers to check their flight status on their official website before heading to the airport.
“Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, flight operations in Dubai have been further restricted, resulting in changes to flight schedules,” the carrier said.
The airline also said it is sending out alerts to inform customers of the latest updates.
In a previous post, IndiGo also said it remains in close coordination with the relevant authorities to gradually restore its air network across the region along with select routes to Europe.
List of canceled Air India flights
Air India issued an update on Sunday, noting that the airline and its low-cost subsidiary Air India Express are forced to curtail their ad-hoc operations on March 15, 2026, following directives from the UAE airport authorities.
Air India will operate one return flight on the Delhi-Dubai route, while the remaining four of the five scheduled flights to Dubai have been cancelled.
Air India Express will also operate one return flight between Delhi and Dubai, with five of the six scheduled flights in Dubai canceled due to the restrictions.
For Abu Dhabi, Air India Express has canceled all five scheduled flights for the day.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah operation will continue, with Air India Express planning to operate flights connecting Sharjah with Delhi, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.
For Ras Al Khaimah, Air India Express will operate flights on Ras Al Khaimah–Kozhikode and Ras Al Khaimah–Kochi routes.
“These flights will be operated subject to slot availability and conditions prevailing at the time of operation,” Air India said in a statement.
The disruption comes as several airlines continue to monitor the evolving situation in West Asia, with schedules likely to be adjusted depending on airport instructions and operational conditions.
