Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran could not leave his uranium enrichment program despite serious damage to his nuclear infrastructure after the recent War of Israel-Iran. Araghchi talked to Fox News on Monday and described enrichment as the main success and matter of national pride.
“It is stopped because yes, the damage is serious and serious. But of course we cannot give up enrichment because it is the success of our own scientists,” Araghchi said.
“Now, more than that, it’s a question of national pride.”
The device can be rebuilt, says Iran
Aracchi, while recognizing the extensive destruction of Iranian nuclear facilities from us and Israeli strikes, emphasized the Iranian continuing ability to enrich.
“Technology is there. Scientists are there. People who run these devices are there,” he said.
“Buildings can be rebuilt. The device can be rebuilt.
When Araghchi asked the Iranian reserves of enriched uranium, he said he had “no detailed information” about whether it was destroyed during the attacks.
Araghchi firmly rejected any demand from the United States to restrict the Iranian missile program or stop its support to regional armed groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis.
“They are fighting for a fair cause and we have always supported them,” he said.
“On our missiles … Is this our most reliable defense means. How can we disarm? Who can (Iran) accept something similar? So we will never disarm.”
Open to indirect interviews with us
While he was eliminating the direct dialogue “for now”, Araghchi said that Tehran remains open conversations with Washington. Recently, both sides have organized five rounds of nuclear negotiations mediated by Oman, but did not agree to limit enrichment.
“If the goal is to ensure that Iran will never have nuclear weapons, it is achievable,” he said.
“But if the goal is to get rid of Iran of his rights, including the right to enrich, I think we have trouble.”
Iran accuses us and Israel for escalation
The twelve -day conflict between Israel and Iran began in June 13. At the end of June, a ceasefire was reached.
Despite the destruction of Araghchi, he claimed that the conflict has shown that a military action cannot stop Iranian nuclear ambitions.
“I think a recent attack has shown that there is no military option for our nuclear program.”
Iran stands at NPT
Iran remains a signatory of the Nuclear (NPT) contract. The UN Nuclear Guards Guards said he had no “trusted indication” of the active program of weapons in Iran. Tehran insists that his nuclear efforts are solely for civilian use.
Israel, who is widely believed to have nuclear weapons, said that its goal is to prevent Iran from ever gaining it.
