Iran firmly denied the claims of US President Donald Trump that officials from the Islamic Republic proposed to send a delegation to the White House to negotiate. In the sharp rebuke Iranian mission at the UN said Tehran would not negotiate “under pressure”.
“No Iranian clerk has ever requested to quarrel on the Gates of White House,” she said on X (formerly Twitter).
Iran: “Do not act under pressure”
The answer to Trump’s notes made earlier on Wednesday, Iranian mission issued a strongly formulated statementrejection of the assumption and the tone of the comments of the US President.
“Iran does not negotiate under pressure, does not accept peace under pressure, and certainly not with the warm, which adheres to the relevance,” the statement read.
The mission also condemned Trump’s threat to “remove” the Iranian highest leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and called it “cowardly”.
“The only thing that is more contempt for his lies is his cowardly threat,” the Iranian statement continued.
“Iran responds to any threat to the counterattack and any action with mutual measures.”
Trump: “They want to negotiate”
Previously, President Trump told reporters at the White House that Iran has now eager to reopen the nuclear negotiations and even proposed a visit to Washington.
“They even suggested that they would come to the White House. It’s bold for them and it’s not easy for them,” Trump said.
“Why didn’t they negotiate two weeks ago? They could do well … it’s very sad to watch it.”
Although he claimed that Iran had addressed interviews, Trump added a note of skepticism about timing.
“It’s very late to speak,” he said. “There is a big difference between now and a week.”
Khamenei warns against the consequences
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei directly responded to Trump’s request for “unconditional surrender” on Wednesday in a television speech and said Iran would not exert pressure.
“The Republic of Islam will not give up,” Khamenei said.
“If the US is a military action, they will undoubtedly cause irreparable consequences for them.”
Trump provides for military action
When the reporters asked if he was planning a strike against Iran, Trump gave a unclear answer.
“You don’t know I’m going to do it.
“Iran has a lot of trouble and want to negotiate.”
