Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan vs Rajasthan Royals (ANI Photo) NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan continued their dream run in IPL 2026 by writing a big T20 record during Gujarat Titans’ chase against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on Friday.The opening pair of Gujarat Titans became the first duo in the history of men’s T20 cricket to register an 11th century partnership. The landmark stand came during their chase of Rajasthan’s massive 214-run target at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.Gill and Sudharsan surpassed some of the greatest batting combinations in T20 history, including Chris Gayle-Virat Kohli, Babar Azam-Mohammad Rizwan and the pair of AB de Villiers-Virat Kohli, all of whom had previously recorded 10th century stands.

Gill and Sudharsan completed the 11th century partnership in just 48 innings combined, much less than other legendary combinations.The pair once again displayed their excellent chemistry under pressure as they chased down a daunting team in the knockout stage. Rajasthan Royals posted 214/6 earlier in the evening, largely thanks to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s explosive 96 off 47 balls and Donovan Ferreira’s late blitz in the final over.In response, Gill and Sudharsan came out aggressively and immediately put Rajasthan’s bowlers under pressure. By the end of the 11th over, Gujarat Titans were racing to 144 for no loss, with Gill hitting 81 off just 39 deliveries and Sudharsan unbeaten on 51 off 27 balls.The partnership highlighted the contrasting yet highly effective styles of both batters. Gill mixed elegant stroke play with calculated aggression, while Sudharsan kept the score flowing with clean hitting and crisp running between the wickets.Their consistency at the top has been one of Gujarat Titans’ biggest strengths over the past two seasons of the IPL.
