IPL 2026 | Only David Warner is ahead! Ishan Kishan achieved a rare milestone against RCB

Ishan Kishan (Image credit: BCCI/IPL) NEW DELHI:Ishan Kishan once again proved why he loves batting against Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the explosive Sunrisers Hyderabad left-hander continued his remarkable run against the defending champions during their IPL 2026 clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday.Kishan smashed a brilliant 79 off 46 balls to register his fourth consecutive 50+ score against RCB in IPL history. The knock further highlighted his dominance over Bengaluru’s bowling attack in several seasons. Only two players now stand alongside or ahead of Kishan in the list of most consecutive 50-plus scores against RCB in IPL history. The former David Warner opener leads the list with seven consecutive 50-plus scores against RCB between 2014 and 2016 – a record achieved during his peak years with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Former captain Kane Williamson also scored four consecutive 50-plus scores against RCB between 2016 and 2019. Kishan has now equaled Williamson’s feat, achieving it between 2024 and 2026.

Kishan was not alone in SRH’s batting carnage. Abhishek Sharma made 56 while Heinrich Klaasen made 51 as Hyderabad produced another breathtaking batting display.This became only the third instance in IPL history when three SRH batsmen scored 50+ runs in the same innings. The first such event came against Punjab Kings in Mohali in 2017, while the second came against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad in 2024. The latest feat against RCB underlined SRH’s batting depth and aggressive intent this season.

Klaasen meanwhile went on to have a dream season in the middle order. The South African star has now scored 606 runs in IPL 2026 while batting at No. 4 or below – the most by any batsman in a single IPL season at those positions. He surpassed Rishabh Pant’s 579 runs for Delhi Capitals in 2018.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, powered by fifties from Abhishek, Klaasen and Kishan, amassed a mammoth 255/4 in 20 overs against RCB. The SRH batsmen smashed a total of 16 sixes during the innings and once again showcased their fearless batting philosophy.It was also the ninth time in IPL 2026 that SRH crossed the 200-run mark in an innings – the most by any team in a single IPL season. The previous best was jointly held by Gujarat Titans in 2025, Punjab Kings in 2025 and 2026, all of whom achieved the feat eight times.
