Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma (PTI Photo) Abhishek Sharma made an immediate impact at the top of Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2026 clash against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, producing quick cameos to set the tone for a high-scoring outing. The left-hander scored 35 off just 13 balls, hitting two fours and four sixes during his short stay. He immediately got going and fired Arshdeep Singh for a maximum on the second ball of the innings. He followed that up by taking on Marc Jansen in the next over, clearing the ropes twice more and adding another six from Lockie Ferguson. However, his aggressive approach ended when he attempted another aerial shot and was caught by Shreyas Iyer. Despite his short stay, Abhishek achieved a major milestone and became only the sixth batsman in the world to complete 300 T20 sixes in India. Rohit Sharma continues to set the benchmark in this category, leading the rankings by a clear margin.

Out early on nine, Klaasen scored 69 off 43 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes. Kishan also enjoyed a bit of luck, surviving both a dropped catch and a missed stumble before compiling a brisk 55 off 32 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes. The duo ensured SRH maintained control through the middle overs and beyond. For Punjab, Yuzvendra Chahal was an outstanding bowler with figures of 1/32 but his efforts were overshadowed by poor fielding support. Several missed chances and missed stumbles, all from his bowling, visibly frustrated him as SRH piled on to a formidable total.
