Kolkata Knight Riders (KRK) and Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) are ready in match 58 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Saturday 17th May at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengalur. However, there is a significant chance of heavy rainfall that could even lead to the match.
If the rain disrupts the game and the match is abandoned without a result, it will have great consequences for both teams. The KKR will be officially excluded from the tournament. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have already been discarded.

The KKR is currently sixth in the point table with 11 points and a net running rate of +0.193, after winning their 12 games so far.
The abandoned match would give RCB one point and took them back to the top of the table. However, this in itself does not guarantee the place of Play -Off – still need victory to officially secure space in the first four.
RCBs are currently second with 16 points and a net running level of +0.482, with a kind permission of eight victories out of 11 games. While they won all their matches this season, they managed only one victory out of three games at home. RCB defeated KKR by seven goals in the seasonal opener in Eden Gardens.
As for Saturday’s weather, clouds are expected throughout the match, with 60-75 % of rain chances and possible storms around 20:00 and 21:00.
With seven teams, which are still in the four -place play -off race, the competition warms up as the league is approaching its last section. While KRKR received IPL three times in 2012, 2014 and 2024, the RCB must only get on a sought -after trophy.
