The Indian cricket council (BCCI) confirmed on Monday that the Indian Premier League (IPL) season will continue from 17 May. IPL was suspended for a week due to increased cross -border tension between India and Pakistan. The Council said the rest of the season will be played in six places with the final scheduled on June 3.
BCCi said that the IPL restart decision was taken after extensive cottages with the government, security agencies and all parties involved.
“After extensive consultations with government and security agencies and all key parties involved, the Board of Directors decided to continue the remaining part of the season,” IPL said in a statement.
India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire of 11 May after heavy cross -border fires. Indian armed forces have organized several print briefings explaining what is happening between the two countries in the last few days.
The IPL was suspended on May 9th, the day after the match between Kings Pandjáb and Delhi Capitals was stopped in Dharamsale to escalate tension with Pakistan. The organizers mentioned that the IPL was suspended only for a week in the middle of speculation that the rest of the tournament could take place in the window in August and September.
BCCI has now ensured that Kings and Delhi Capitals Pandjáb play their match, which was called in Jaipur on May 24th. The league phase will end on 27 May and Play -Off will start 29 May. Initially, the IPL final was scheduled for 25 May.

There is uncertainty about overseas players who join the tournament, given that players from Australia and South Africa have to prepare for the final of the World Championship, which begins on June 11, with the Lord. The news suggests that most players would come back to India when teams start their practice at selected places, while others like Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins could decide to stay at home.
