
Australian versatile Mitchell Owen was replaced by Glenn Maxwell in Panjab Kings (PBKS) for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Zalmi will play his last league match against Lahore Qalandars on Friday 9th May at the cricket stadium Rawalpindi. Since Zalmi is placed in fifth place with a clean running rate of -0.507, they can still qualify for play -offs with the finals of 18 May.
Formerly, Maxwell was expelled after a finger break During the training before the game Punjab against Kolkata Knight (KKR) in Eden Gardens in Calcutta. He scored only 48 runs in seven matches on average eight and a strike rate of 97.95. Owen joins the franchise based in Pandjab for Rs 3 Crore.
Owen came to the center of attention in January when he hit the fastest hundreds of Big Bash League (BBL) from 39 balls. Owen played for Hobart Hurricanes in the finals against David Warner Sydney Thunder in Bellerive, and scored 108 out of 42 balls with six and 11 six.
On the back of his knocking Hurricanes, he chased 183 with 35 balls to save, and first won the title BBL. Owen was also the highest scorer of BBL last season and accumulated 452 runs out of 11 shifts on average 45.20.
As for the king, they are in the race to walk play -offs. PBKS will currently place the fourth with 13 points and a net running rate of +0.199, on Sunday 4th May will be at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Dharamsale.
