New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants’ young Spinner Digvesh Rathi found himself this season IPL – not only for his performance, but for his controversial celebration of the “laptop”, which landed him for the second time in disciplinary problems in a few days.
Rathi first drew attention to the LSG against the Pandjab Kings last Tuesday.

Although playful, the act was considered unsportsmanlike.
He received a fine of 25% of his fee for a match that came to 1,87,500 R (due to the standard fee for the IPL 2025 RS 7.5 Lakh) and received one point of Demerit.
Spinner, however, did not return.
Only four days later, during a collision with a high share with the Bombai Indians at the Ekan Stadium in Lucknow, Rathi repeated the celebration after the rejection of Naman Dhir.

This time the reaction of the IPL disciplinary committee was even stronger.
Rathi was fined 50% of his fee for the match: the hefty Rs of 3,75,000, and was handed over to the second level 1 criminal offenses according to Article 2.5 of the IPL Code, thus becoming his total demeanity for the season for three.
Overall, Digvesh Rathi was now fined RS 5.62 500 for his two crimes related to the celebration.
While the celebrations are part of the T20 cricket, the league showed that players must maintain respect for the opponents and the spirit of the game.
The incidents have triggered a debate between fans and experts on where to draw the boundary between expression and provocation.
