Gujarat Titans (GT) signed the versatile Sri Lanka Dasun Shanaka as a replacement for Glenn Phillips injury for the rest of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). Phillips suffered a weakness injury, while during the fourth Gujarat accessories against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who excluded him from the tournament.
New Zealand’s versatile player did not play the only game for the team, but after the fifth shift SRH came as a substitute player in the field. However, he had to leave the field in a few minutes after the injury suffering when laying the ball.

Therefore, GT signed Shanaka as a replacement for RS 75 lakh. The 33 -year -old also played back for franchise in 2023, which remains his only seasonal performance in IPL. The 33-year-old played three matches in the tournament and scored 26 runs.
Shanaka brings rich experience and has 4449 in his T20 career along with 91 goals. It remains to see GT using the versatile skills in the rest of the season.
