Gujarat Titans brought Sri Lankan opener Kusal Mendis as a replacement for the English Jos Buttler, who will miss the play -off iPL 2025 due to international obligations.
Buttler, English Captain White Balls, leaves after the Gujaratian match against Chennai Super Kings 25. England begins its series of white balls against West India 29. May and creates a direct clash with the playoff IPL.
Mendis is to join the Titans 26 team for Rs 75 lakh. While franchise already has the possibility of goal in Anuj Rawat and Kumar Kushagra, Mendis offers a strong alternative.
Mendis was part of the Quetta Gladiators team in the Super League, Pakistan’s Super League last week, as their goalie battery, his latest performance appeared on May 7. For the rest of the tournament, however, will not return to Pakistan due to reported security concerns.
He recently scored 143 runs on a strike of 168 in five matches for Gladiators in Pakistan’s Super League.
Although he entered the IPL auction several times in the past, Mendis has never been selected. He is currently waiting for his visa and is expected to join the team on Saturday.
Gujarat, champions in 2022, is approaching to seal the top peak. With 16 points out of 11 games, three league accessories have the remaining-Delhi Capitals (May 18, Gone), Lucknow Super Giants (May 22) and Chennai Super Kings (May 25). A strong surface could give them a direct way to a qualifier 1.
In other team updates, Kings Pandjab New Zealand Kyle Jamieson signed a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who is outdoors with hamstring injuries. Jamieson was selected for RS 2 crore.
Super Giants Lucknow in New Zealand sailor William O’Rouke rode as a replacement for the injured Mayank Yadav. The young Pacer joins the RS 3 Crore and adds the depth of the LSG bowling unit as it pushes the Play -off anchorage.
